First way to improvement! It's a lot better than your last track.
Try the snakeditor, its very great tool for making tracks, and theres also an english help file attached

ok. But landeditor works, doesn't it? So you might create your tracks with that. Not only stickers, but also nice track.
And you should really try "dithering" in paint: use the spray tool and spray with dark tarmac (=tarmac1) over bright tarmac (=tarmac2). It sometimes really looks good, especially at "used" circuits
